attended a three days compulsory camping...
from 7th till 9th october 2011...
at palok hinai...

the bad friday started the moment i reached UMP...
i came back from airen's house around 4pm...
showered and final checked everything...
ate the 'char siew pao' mummy bought the night before...
and left them inside the steamer..:)
had two of them...
then i drove all the way to UMP...
reached there around almost 5pm...
i left my kelisa parked outside the hostel's compound for the coming two days...
climbed up to my room to wait for the time to gather up...
meanwhile i was packing some leftovers...
which i left it in my hostel and did not bring back home on thursday night...
took a pair of fork and spoon...
and most important of all...
my track bottom...

i messaged jess and weitheng...
to ask them to miss call me when they want to walk to the bus stop...
then i all did was to wait wait and wait...
until around 5.40pm...
i begun to feel uneasy already...
we were supposed to gather at 5.45pm...
but no one called me to give me any sign to get out of the room...
so i messaged jess immediately to ask...
and found that the gather time was 6.45pm...
i guess they changed the time...
and i did not update myself through e-comm...
basically it was a little waste of time for me to come back so early...
if i were to know the time earlier...
i would have stayed at airen's house longer...
or i would have to get to stay at home a little longer..-_-
i eventually fell asleep waiting for 6.45pm to come...
thank god jess and weitheng miss called me almost the same time...
and i jumped out of my bed...
and off to meet up with them...

it rained out of a sudden...
was waiting under the rain for the bus driver to let us get up the bus...
i felt so horrible even before i reach the campsite due to the scary weather...
knowing that i will not be able to talk to bb so often for the coming two days...
made me missed him so so much...
called bb once i got up the bus...
just to listen to his voice..
it took them so so long to make sure all the students boarded the bus...
the bus only started to move after waited for one hour plus...
and they made a stop in between for the muslims to perform their prayers...
wasted so much time to get there...

when we got there...
the bus stopped us quite a distance from the campsite...
we had to walked ourselves there...
under the rain and on muddy grounds...
60 over girls in a camp...
it was quite a big camp though...
still i felt a little too crowded and stuffy in there...
there was not any activity on the first night...
coz it was raining the whole night...
just a post mortem before heading back to our camp to sleep...
my sleeping bag only played a role as a pillow for me that night...
it was just too hot to open up a sleeping bag to sleep..-_-
was messaging with bb until around 1am...
too many people sleeping together made it difficult to make any call...
worried that i might disturb other people to sleep...
did not really get to sleep also...
was awake almost every hour of the night...

on the next day...
got up around 5 something...
coz the muslims had to wake up early for their prayers...
their inconsiderateness eventually dragged most of us up...
but i went back to sleep on and off...
and only willing to get up to wash up around 6.30am...
the morning part was fully self-conduct...
the so called 'penghulu' that we chose on the first night during the post mortem...
he asked us to do aerobic at first...
but it seemed more like an ordinary warming up for me...
and there was once i got a little annoyed with the muslims girls...
they were so shy to do 'lompat katak' in front of the guys...
they challenged the guys to do first...
and when it was the girls' turn to do...
they kept complaint that they cannot do in front of the guys...
coz of what??
just coz they worried the guys will stare at their boobs when jumping??..><
so freaking ridiculous..-_-
and guess how they actually did 'lompat katak' after that??
they moved to the back of the our camp...
hide over there and we did there together...
so annoying..-_-
then we walked around the campsite...
to the nearby villages right beside the pahang river...
and we had nasi lemak for breakfast after that...
just ate a little of it..><

the officer incharged came not long after that...
and our next activity was water confidence...
the activity i feared most..><
though we were only asked to lie and flow to the other end of the river...
but water confidence in pahang river freaked me out!!!..:(
the deepest and widest river in peninsular...
how do you expect a person that don't know how to swim like me...
to not scared and worried..:(
i was okie at first...
coz the officers allowed five persons per group to go into the river...
the guys did first and they mostly went with 4-6 people in a group...
i felt not so scared already coz i know jess will be taking care of me...
but when it came to the girls' turn to get into the water...
the officer requested one-by-one...
i got so freaked out that i almost burst into tears..:(
still i forced myself to do it...
after considering it for so so long...
and in one condition...
i wanted to go before jess...
and she will be right behind me after i got into the water...
i slowly lay on the water...
and just let the water bring me to the pit stop...
was really very panic...
and the more i panic the more i felt like sinking..><
i kept asking jess how far am i from the pit stop...
i kept asking jess how long some more to reach the pit stop..><
yea i was really scared...
and only felt the relief when someone dragged me to the river side...
this was indeed a fear factor for me...

took a break after water confidence...
had lunch but i skipped the lunch...
washed up...
and rested before the next activity begins...
it was foot drill practice in the evening around 4pm...
no standard foot drill i can say...
how i miss the hard time when i was under foot drill training during my national service...
this foot drill was nothing at all...
i think it was so much worse than my first time foot drill when i was form1..-_-

it only lasted for about an hour plus...
then we had to prepare to leave for jungle trekking already...
another scary part of the camp...
we were not allowed to bring any torch light or umbrella at all...
i had one each in my pocket but could not made full use of them...
it started raining around 6pm...
still they strictly banned us from opening umbrella...
the rain was getting heavier and heavier each second...
when we were walking into the jungle...
by 7.30pm our vision begun to get blurred...
i could barely see anything with my specs on...
coz the mist is getting thicker when we get more and more into the jungle...
but it would be worse if i were to take off my specs..><
luckily i had my cap on...
at least it kept my specs from getting wet...

it was a disaster going through everything in the jungle...
from trees to bushes to thorny plants to rivers to muddy grounds...
and of course uncountable insects bites especially leeches..><
we held on each other tight when the sky got dark...
we could hardly see anything at the front...
with no torch light at all...
we could only listened to the guides given by the people in front of us...
i slipped for so many times in between...
and there was once i think i kinda fractured my left arm...
coz i fell and my friends who held both my hands...
they both dragged me from the opposite sides...
and it was really very hard to get back on feet once you fell..><

we came to an empty ground after walking innocently for almost three hours...
around 10pm...
where took a break there...
and we were supposed to accomplished the mission given to us...
in order to get out of the jungle...
our mission was to light a camp fire and bbq the cassava and eat them...
with all the wet leaves and twigs...
it was rather impossible to build a fire there...
the officer had actually ordered the uncle who lead us to the jungle...
to prepare all the tools and materials needed to light fire...
the officers purposely wanted to tortured and watch our disappointed faces..-_-
coz he did mentioned that...
he will want us to stay overnight in the jungle...
if we fail to complete our mission...
the uncle was very kind actually...
it was not at all his fault to drag our time in there...
he taught us how to build a camp fire...
and some survival skills needed in such situation...
though i do not find it useful...
but still i appreciated everything that he taught...
for at least i learnt something from there...
the uncle immediately lead us to the shortcut...
once we 'completed' our task...
there was a way shorter way to get back to camp actually...
but he was asked to bring us to take the long cut at the beginning...
reached back to our campsite at around 1am...
been soaking under the rain for more than 6 hours plus..><
i pity myself a lot..><

came back to the camp to find that our one and only one place to sleep...
was flooded..:(
my shirts and everything in the bags were all wet...
even my sleeping bag...
what is more saddening when there was not enough water to bath...
after all the muddy water and river water all over your body...
so pathetic..:(
found two leech bites on my body...
one on my left arm and another one on my tummy...
did not realised there was anything biting me...
and i could not get to stop the bleeding on my arm...
too much blood that it traced on my wet shirt..><
i tried stopping it by placing a towel on the wound...
but it just not working...
sticked a handyplast on it hoping that it will stop itself the next morning...

it was a cold cold night...
we were in our wet shirts...
and we slept at the place where the muslims do their prayers..><
thank god my jacket was dry...
i wrapped myself under it and tried to get some sleeps...
but my feet were too cold that i got up on and off...
i got nothing else to cover my feet...
coz even the thinnest socks of mine were wet...
jess and me could not stand the cold anymore...
we got no choice but to just open up my wet sleeping bag...
and covered our feet..><

woke up on the sunday morning...
and our shirts were still wet...
was shivering to death already...
nothing much on the last day of the camp...
we were to work together...
to clean up the campsite...
some volunteered to do the cookings..keeping the tents..washing the toilets..etc...
the last post mortem around 2pm...
before we had our lunch...
started the journey back to UMP around 3.20pm...
i drove home right after i took my keys from my room...
