how many poké bowl have you eaten so far? ever curiously google over the term "poké"?

poké is a term in Hawaiian and when it is translated over to English it means "to slice" or "cut crosswise into pieces". poké is a traditional Hawaiian dish which consists of fish that has been gutted, skinned, and de-boned, and well seasoned with traditional condiments such as sea salt, candle nut, seaweed, and limu (algae).

poké bowl has been a very popular food among Malaysian nowadays especially when everyone is hyping about living towards a healthier lifestyle. such popularity has eventually results in many openings of different poké bowl outlets at different locations across Malaysia.

and Kahuna Poké is one of them..:)

Kahuna Poké is a newly opened poké bowl outlet. i was invited to the soft launch of Kahuna Poké the other day and managed to be the first few to try out their poké bowls. scroll more to read my review about Kahuna Poké.

Location
♥ ♥ ♥
located at Damansara Uptown, Kahuna Poké may have gotten a very good location as this area is pretty "alive" 24/7. no doubt it will definitely draws a lot of working adults who work nearby to visit during weekdays. there are also plenty of foodie lovers to hunt for food here especially during the weekends.

however, this area is also well known for its difficulty when it comes to looking for a parking spot. so if you are here for a poké bowl you may consider coming during the off peak or park your vehicle at the Damansara Uptown Car Park or Starling Mall buildings.

Ambience
♥ ♥ ♥
Kahuna Poké has a simple and cooling industrial interior. i credit less on the furnishing as it does not really resembles the Hawaiian-ness. however, i do love the dangling fish lights hung all over the restaurant, look as though there are fishes swimming in the sea don't you think so? i love the wall arts too because they are so "instagrammable".

so if you are visiting, remember to grab a place near the painted wall and spam photos to your IG while enjoying your bowl of poké ..:p

Menu
♥ ♥ ♥
like any other poké bowl outlets, ordering your poké bowl is as easy as ABC. and because Kahuna Poké is inspired by Hawaiian dish, the protein options are only seafood. this can be a major concern for people who does not take raw food.

love how clean their preparation counter is. this is probably the best way to convince your customers that they prepare the ingredients fresh everyday.

Food
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
overall, my poké bowl tasted really good!!! love it because everything in the bowl is so fresh and well seasoned. i especially love the generous chunks of salmon in my bowl, so generous you can enjoy almost every spoon of poké with a piece of salmon in it.

Kahuna Poké provides self-service drink counter too, where customers can fill up their glasses with either plain water or lime water which tastes really refreshing. the drink counter is definitely a plus point from me because not all poké bowl outlets provide such service.

Price
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Kahuna Poké bowl priced at around RM19.90, pretty standard pricing like any other poké bowl outlets, provided their is no additional add-ons to your poké bowl. the price for an additional protein add-on is pretty pricey for me. however, i think there is no need for an add-on considering the portion is rather generous.

Verdict
if you were to ask if i will ever visit again? definitely a YES because i really love the generosity of the salmon they have put in my poké bowl!!! but i do hope they can slowly improve in their interior because it is all about "instagrammable" spots nowadays to attract more youngsters.

so if you are at Damansara Uptown, do drop by Kahuna Poké to try out their healthy poké bowl!!!
